On Friday, 8 March 2024 during 9:00 – 12:00 hours, a delegation of teachers and students of year/grade 9, totaling 65 persons, from the Concordian International School took a study visit at the Supreme Court of Thailand.
Upon the arrival of the delegates, Mr. Kittipong Siriroj, the Vice-President of the Supreme Court, together with
his team, welcomed the delegation. A group photo was taken in front of the Court of Justice Building.
Afterwards, the delegation attended a special lecture on the topic of “The Career Path and the Performance of Duties of Judges”, given by Mr. Nawaporn Rattanawaraha, the Chief Judge of the Office of the President of the Supreme Court acting the Chief Judge in the Research Division of the Supreme Court.
This is followed by a special lecture on the topic of “Learning about the Thai Court of Justice”, given by
Mrs. Nanthanuj Kreangam, the Judge in the Research Division of the Supreme Court, and Ms. Natlita Jaroenkhasemmeesuk, Secretary of the Criminal Court acting the Judge in the Research Division of the Supreme Court.
Afterwards, another lecture was given on the topic of “Learning about a Criminal Trial Against Persons Holding Political Positions” by Mrs. Thanyalak Benjamano Techawutipan, the Judge in the Research Division of the Supreme Court, and Mr. Punnat Bunnag, the Judge in the Research Division of the Supreme Court, at the Courtroom No. 208.
Later, the delegation took a visit at the Justice Castle Spire, and attended an interactive self-learning exhibition of the Supreme Court as well as a lecture in order to learn about the history of the Courts of Justice in Thailand and the court proceedings, at the 2nd Floor of the North Hall in the Supreme Court Building. Apart from that, the delegation also observed an outstanding and exquisite scenery of the Central Garden within the Supreme Court Building before their departure.
From this study visit, the delegation including the teachers and students have enhanced their correct understanding on the laws, the justice system, as well as the roles of the Court of Justice as the country’s main organization which exercises judicial power in the name of His Majesty the King. This is in order to render justice to the Thai people in a non-discriminatory manner under the rule of law, consistent with the Policies of the President of the Supreme Court emphasizing on “Dependability, Fairness, Equality, and Modernization.”
